Carved horn grip in the shape of a mustachioed man wearing a hat, inlaid with bone and brass; decorative brass pommel cap. Brass guard with decorative reverse quillon and small integral knucklebow. Unmarked 21" curved single-edged blade without fullers and 8" false edge. Original black leather-over-wood scabbard with brass throat and drag. Overall length 26 ½". Untouched original condition with all metal parts having a dark age patina; blade lightly pitted, minor loss to bone inlay. Very interesting and unique cutlass.
