Vintage Jeweled HUGE Renaissance Icon Painted portrait Religious Necklace

Renaissance paintings were dark and full of rich color and the portraits captured emotions and a depth you don't see anymore. This necklace is made with an early vintage porcelain cabachon.The portrait which was painted over with a special impressionist style technique that makes it seem as if it is on real canvas and it seems not to be a full painting till you step back and look. . The portrait was hand tinted, burnished with coppers and golds and sealed. Surrounding it are the most brilliant hand set vintage czech glass aurora borealis stones that shine like little lights around the face of this icon. THe heavy brass pendant has four larger glass aurora borealis claw set stones surrounding the centerpiece. Two thick antiqued brass chains that measure 18" long has a toggle clasp that can be worn at the back or on the side. The back of the porcelain cabachon is marked Japan. Made with vintage pieces that came together in the most stunning way, this religious icon is truly so much more beautiful in person that you can only stare in awe at the colors of these fabulous old stones that reflect the face of the beauty inside.
