1893 signed Mary E. Phillips oil on canvas

1893 signed oil on canvas painting of a still life with different color roses by Mary E. Phillips. The date and signature are in the lower right hand corner field but may not be visible in the scans provided The canvas colours are still crisp. The actual canvas is 17 inches by 27 inches. The gold frame is 25 inches by 35 inches. The canvas is problem free from major defects, however, no painting from 1893 is perfect. The gold frame is missing gold paint in three minor areas (see images) and can easily be retouched by a professional. The only known painter Mary Phillips is Mary Elizabeth Phillips, in the late 19th century, from Ohio, who signed her paintings M. V. Phillips, for Mary Virginia Phillips. T is no other listing for any other Mary Phillips painters from the 19th century. This painting may or may not be the same person. At the time, t was considerable prejudice towards female painters, hence Mary V. Phillips signing her paintings M V Phillips so nobody would know that the painter is a woman. I searched extensively and found only what is presented Any information any collector or dealer wishes to share would be most welcome.
