1920's DEco Chrysoprase Filigree gilt silver ornate bracelet

Delicate hand worked silver spun wire settings hold these beautiful Chrysoprase apple green cabachons ( you can see light thru them and they are not opaque like green onyx). The bracelet is gilt over sterling and it measures 7" when closed and is 3/4" wide. Ancient cultures believed that a chrysoprase could make one disappear if swallowed. This made the gem a popular one among prisoners & their families. It was also thought that the stone would lose its color in the presence of poison. Romanian folklore claims that chrysoprase enabled its owner to understand the language of lizards, although I've never known lizards to be terribly chatty. Today chrysoprase is appreciated as a calming stone of the heart. This bracelet is from the 20's and other than one link that has been reattached ( see photo) it is in very good condition.
