Beautiful 1940's Lane cedar chest with inlaid waterfall design, with original keys to exterior push-button lock and interior center locking compartment. This wonderful piece of furniture measures approximately 23 inches high, 46.5 inches wide, and 23 inches deep. It has a felt-lined fold-out shelf with 3 compartments (one covered and locking) attached to the lid. On the inside cover are the Lane trademark, and a listing of patent numbers with the most recent patent date being 1940. On the interior bottom is stamped "Pressure tested for aroma tightness" along with a round peg. On the underside is STYLE NUMBER 2133 and SERIAL NUMBER 643111. This piece is in very good condition, with a small area of veneer loss on the right edge of the lid approximately 1/4" by 5/16", and a tinier loss of veneer on the bottom front edge approximately 1/8" by 1/4". The chest still has a beautiful glossy finish with minor surface wear. The interior is clean with a small area of what looks to be sap staining.
