A major US rare coin auction house shows only 1 circ, cleaned 1944-D/D overmintmark Mercury in their entire database. That coin was from the Harold and Jan Kritzman Collection
These coins came from supposedly an original roll from a reliable source about 6 or 8 years ago and the remainder were probably quietly dispersed.
