An excellent example of a ornate marble top console table made from carved wood and gilded. The size and quality of this item are truly outstanding and will be a talking point in any room. This is a real feature piece and would look even better with a mirror above it.
Sourced from a country house in Southern France this item has been privately owned and would have been made around 1880.
The attention to detail and quality of the carving are truly wonderful. Some of the gilding has chipped off over time however in my opinion this only enhances the look of this wondeful piece. Areas where the gilding has been chipped can be seen in photographs.
