Our client's fabulous antique 18K gold plastron necklace dating from the mid-nineteenth century features seven Aureaus medallions depicting Roman emperors.  Length:  32 in, 81.5 cm. Weight: 271 grams, 8.71 toz.

Depicted are Nerva (30-98 AD), Trajan x2 (53-117 AD), Hadrien x2 (76-138 AD), Antonin le Pieux (86-161 AD) and Marc-Aurèle (121-180 AD).

The aureus was the main gold coin of ancient Rome from the 1st century BC to the early 4th century AD when it was replaced by the solidus.

In good condition.  There is no clasp.
