2001 Seagull & World Trade Center Limted Edition Signed Print by Piero Ribelli

This print, depicting a soaring gull and the world trade center, is in mint condition and is being sold here exclusively on behalf of the artist, noted Italian-born photographer Piero Ribelli. Hand-signed by the artist. Measures 29.5" wide by 12.5" high. As of 8/14/06 only 343 remain from the original limited edition of 1,000 prints. Sepia-toned photo printed on 200 gram watercolor paper by a four-color Heidelberg printer. Print will be rolled carefully and shipped in a heavy cardboard tube for optimum protection.

Taken just weeks prior to September 11, 2001, this photograph of a gull soaring over New York harbor with the Statue of Liberty and World Trade Center towers in the background, is from the photo series for ZOO YORK, an Animal Lover's View of Manhattan, self published by the artist in early 2002.

Piero Ribelli is an Italian photographer based in New York since 1987. Working in portraiture and photojournalism, his photographs have appeared in magazines such as Jazz Express and Boz in England, Brutus and Esquire in Japan, Skywritings and The Observer in Jamaica. In the United States he has published work in a range of publications, including The Source, Musician, The New York Times, Editor and Publisher, Architectural Record, Entertainment Weekly, Animal Fair and Ladies Home Journal. In his native Italy, his work has appeared in, among others, Repubblica, Il Mondo, Il Corriere della Sera, ¿Il Sole 24 Ore, Multi Media, Tema Celeste, Sabor and Airone. In 1996 he produced his first photographic book, Jah Pickney, Children of Jamaica, an exploration of the similarities he found between his childhood growing up in Italy and the lifestyle of Jamaican children. Exhibitions of his work have been staged in Italy, Jamaica and New York City, including an exhibit at the United Nations hosted by the Jamaican Mission to the U.N. and U.N.I.C.E.F. He has appeared on CBS Television in New York, on television and radio shows in Jamaica and in Italy, as well as on RAI International.
