(9) Mihail Chemiakin St Petersburg Carnival Bronze Sculptures - Limited Edition of 4
$115,000.00
Our client's 9 verdigris patinated bronze figurines by Mihail Chemiakin (Russian-American, 1943- ) are all numbered 3 from a limited edition of 4, issued as early as 1987 (when the artist first conceived and cast works of his series of figures from the carnival of St. Petersburg) or as late as the 1990s. Heights range from 16 1/2 to 19 1/2 in (41.9 to 49.5 cm). Each with the artist's signature, "EA 3/4" in script where the initials represent the widely used French abbreviation, epreuve d'artiste, for artist's proof. This is believed to be the largest collection of Chemiakin bronze figures from the St. Petersburg carnival series to ever come to sale on the secondary market. Each in excellent condition. The leg mount to the figure shown on the far left is a little loose, but structurally sound and not in need of restoration. Light scratches, scuffs and rubbing wear. Items sold as-is. All sales final.
