This antique three-piece carved sofa or parlor set dates from the 1880s and is constructed out of mahogany. It consists of a carved loveseat, carved arm chair and a wonderful stylish arm rocker. It maintains its original finish, which, we have to say, has aged to a gorgeous patina. The sofa has a nice scroll foot, carved knuckles, carved details on the back and legs, scooped out seat, and an attractive shell detail on the sofa crest. It measures 42 inches long x 28 inches deep x 40 inches tall, 28” from the floor to the arm, and 16” from the floor to the seat. The armchair feature is the same design as on the sofa and also has a scooped out seat that is in great condition and again, just a beautiful patina on the finish. It measures 25 1/2 inches wide 28 inches deep and 37 inches tall. It’s 27 inches from the floor to the arm and 16 inches from the floor to the seat. The rocking chair’s carved details mirror those on the sofa and the armchair, but it’s seat it a molded saddle seat, and the legs are obviously rockers as opposed to the scroll foot on the other two pieces. It measures 24” x 28” x 33” tall it is 27 inches to the top of the arm and 15.5 inches to the seat. This antique mahogany, three-piece carved sofa set is in beautiful condition with only the most minor nicks and dings that come with age. This set is so nice and surprisingly comfortable for pieces that are made out of solid wood. Everything is relatively ergonomic and reflects the stellar aesthetic of the Victorian designers.
