We are pleased to be offering today this early country primitive style stand up desk that dates from the 1880s era. It is constructed of all black walnut. It is all original except for the owner has put the foot rails on the base, installed a new lock and replaced the drawer guides for ease of movement. THIS DESK IS LOCATED IN TACOMA, WASHINGTON AT THE ORIGINAL OWNER'S HOUSE!!! He can meet the buyer at a mutually agreed location, but it must be picked up there or arrange your own shipping. We can arrange it with you. This client furnished his entire house from us 30 years ago and he used this desk in his office every day. He loves it, but is in the process of down sizing. The overall size is 74 inches wide, 48 inches tall and 30 inches deep. The height of 48 inches is in the back at the gallery. The front slope is 43 inches high. The desk came out of an old country store in Maine that was owned by a second generation store here in Maine. It is all hand cut dove tail on the drawers. It is all solid wood with multi turn Sheraton style legs. In my over 50 years in the antique business I have only had maybe 10 of these desks.
