One of the series of 24 scenes from plays by Shakespeare designed by John Moyr Smith for Mintons China Works, pattern No. 1408. Depicted here is: "Taming of the Shrew, Act IV, scene iii". The tile is underglaze block-printed in black on a buff clay body and finished in a clear glossy glaze and signed "J.M.S." in the tile. It is in very good original condition with some edge nibbles and light wear as shown. Please write with any questions you may have.
