Offered today is this beautiful carved Mahogany sideboard by Horner with a full carved mirror back that date from the 1890's. A mirror back sideboard carved with full figure female nudes, seated cherubs, fanciful sea dragons with riders and wolf heads across the doors and drawers. The cabinet has a delicate pierce carved gallery with winged cherubs centering a shield flanked by ornate scrolling vinery. The posts with fully carved naked women with draped tunics. The crest mounted above an open shelf supported by nude female figures adorned with a floral garland at the waist within an S-scrolled pedestal. The case with leaf carved molded edge at the top above two aligned drawers with wolf’s head pulls amongst scrolling vinery above a pair of cabinet doors; each carved with a fanciful underwater scene of a sea dragon with a cherub-like rider with trident framed by carvings and leaf tips. A full body female nude above an engraved square, tapered column comprises the corner posts on a molded base raised on S-scrolled carved feet. Overall size is 67 inches wide by 27 inches deep and overall height of 81 inches. Overall condition is good with the sideboard being professionally refinished in a rich reddish brown Mahogany stain within the last ten years.
