We are pleased to be offering today this rare cylinder carved Victorian secretary bookcase desk in oak. They typically come in cherry, walnut or mahogany and rarely in oak. This desk has carved pillars going down both sides, lattice carved molding across the doors, spoon carving, original hardware on the commode base and has three adjustable shelves. I do not believe the crest is original as the spoon carving is a bit different, but most people would not notice as it fits together well. The desk dates from the 1880s era. The overall size is 42 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 93.5 inches high to the top of the crest. The shelves are 37.25 inches wide by 9.5 inches deep. There is no key. The condition is unbelievably nice. It has the original hardware, panel sides, dove tail drawers and carved pillars. There are no splits in the sides or cylinder. It appears to have the original wavy glass. Shipping starts at $395 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area. Outside the normal area will incur additional delivery charges, which could add on especially if you're on the West Coast. Please contact us prior to purchase with your zip code to obtain a quote for additional shipping outside of New England.
