Antique Primitive Wooden Yarn / Skein Winder
Unavailable
Antique, primitive wooden yarn / skein winder, made from mostly oak or ash. The vertical shaft and gear housing are made from a wood with less prominent grain. The skein winder is about 46.5 inches high, 25.25 inches wide, and 15 inches deep. It is put together with iron nails; some of the nails are missing, but the piece is quite sturdy. The vertical shaft fits into an opening on the base and is secured with wood pegs. The base has 4 legs: two on the right side, one on the front, and one on the left side. The winder has great patina from age and usage, and there are traces of green paint on the bottom of the base. The winder has 6 spokes and revolves smoothly. The counter on the front does not work. The winder is in good condition, with some chipping on the edges of the winder's spools. Please refer to the 4 photographs for appearance and condition. Shipping / packaging will be determined based upon the zip code of the buyer.
