Antique Secretary Desk, Victorian Extra Large Cylinder Bookcase Desk #21375

This antique secretary desk is a much larger and heavier than normal double glass door double burl piece. This roll-cylinder secretary features a wonderful heavy carved crest, and dates from the 1880's. It comes with three original shelves that are adjustable behind the wavy glass doors. It has burl walnut panels coming down both sides, heavy crown molded top and a crest with big ball finials on each end. It has a commode base with three drawers and a door. The only thing I don’t like about this cylinder desk is that the finish is light, similar to a cherry, but it is walnut wood. It has the original heavy bold brass hardware, and is in really nice shape. The pull-out writing surface has green felt on it. When you open the double panel cylinder roll, it reveals a simplistic double drawer interior that is simplistic. The overall size is 45 inches wide, 26 inches deep, 29.5 inches high to the pull-out writing surface, 88 inches high to the double crown molding and 98 inches overall to the top of the heavily carved crest. It comes with a key. It is a stout and sturdy desk that provides ample storage space. Shipping starts at $385 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
