Antique Sewing Scratch Awl Handle Peg Shaped

$18.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a very nice, turn of the century peg shaped awl handle, featuring the steel collet type chuck, so the steel tip is removable, and others can be used as well. (the one shown comes with awl). These tool handle often came with tiny wrenches that would fit on the threaded sleeve of the chuck, we don't have the wrench, and find a small adjustable wrench works just fine. The wood appears to be fruitwood, most likely applewood, and is in very good shape. This style is much like the Stanley No. 7 sewing awl haft, as it is 4" long, not including the needle. We note only minor wear on the handle, solid not cracked. The tip is slightly crurved at the end, with is oblong shaped point. A nice tool for canvas, leather and other heavy fabrics!
