We are pleased to be offering today is something I have never seen in my 50 years in the business. It is a bentwood stick and ball spindle brass cap screen rack of some sort. I have no idea what it was used for. I wanted to say it was a rack for quilts. It maybe takes fabric and makes it into room divider, but it has a platform base that is like for shoes or something. I am really confused. It has all the brass dainty little ribbed balls intact with no damage. The stick and ball itself is in really nice condition. It has a nice patina over the years. I am assuming it dates from the 1890s era. If anyone knows what this was made for, please let us know. It has a big bold platform base tells you that it holds a lot of weight if needed. It has the dowel spindle bottom shelf that is 3 inches off the floor and the stick and spindle ball design on top and sides. It all accented with brass cap finials. The overall size is 48 inches wide, 22 inches across the shoe foot base and the overall height is approximately 70 inches high. The open space in the center is 44 inches wide by 14 inches high. It is a great piece. Shipping starts at $285 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area. Outside the normal area will incur additional delivery charges.
