This antique brooch looks like it was made out of a gold piece of metal 7/16" wide and 1-1/2" long. Each side was rolled inwards, making the brooch 1/4" wide, and then curled into a half circle. A 2-3/4" serpent is wrapped around the pin. It has a tiny ruby on it's head and has it's mouth open, ready to eat the silver frog in front of it. This pin has a tube hinge and "C" catch fitting, with tarnish that I have not cleaned.
