We are pleased to be offering today this beautiful Victorian walnut and burl walnut cylinder secretary desk dating from the 1880s in nice condition. It has walnut sides, burl walnut dove tail drawer front and door, burl walnut on the cylinder roll that is perfect and notch carving on the cylinder roll to match the spoon carving throughout the entire piece. It has what appears to be the original glass on the bookcase top. It comes with three adjustable shelves. It has unusual notch molding on the top of the doors, burl walnut trim going down both sides, carved cylinder posts on the sides, burl walnut drawer fronts with original brass hardware on the base and the commode base door cupboard is unique. The pull out tray has what appears to be the old original felt. When the roll is opened, it exposes a bird’s eye maple double drawer interior with the pull-out writing surface. The overall size is 43.5 inches wide, 23 inches deep and 88 inches high. The three shelves that are 37 inches wide and 10 inches deep. The height to the writing surface is 30 inches high. The desk comes with a key, but we do not guarantee the locks to work. The desk has the original hardware. Shipping starts at $395 for a driveway delivery in our normal New England delivery area.
