Asian Tea Storage Pottery Jar, Red clay with High Gloss Drip Glaze. The base color is a deep burnt reddish orange that progresses to a lighter shade toward the bottom. The drip is a dark brown. It is very attractive and unusual. The lid is brown. The vessel is in excellent condition. There is a small chip on the rim of the lid. It is stamp marked on the bottom. It is hard to get a clean picture without reflections. It measures 8.5" tall from base to finial on lid. The fastest part is 5" across. I don't know if it is Chinese or Japanese. In any event it is a high quality red clay ware pot.
