Beautiful Off-White Linen Bedspread With Detailed Cutout Lace Work

$245.00
Quantity available: 1

Beautiful heavy starched linen off-white bedspread with detailed cutout lace work with angels, cherubs and scrollwork, white embroidered flowers. I laid it on top of a red tablecloth to show the detailed cutout work. You can see the area at the top goes over the pillows on the bed. In the middle are two cherubs, one holding a violin. The center of the spread has a picture of two cherubs holding a ladder. This spread measures 85" long x 64" wide. There is a note that came with this bedspread, indicating it was made by Marie (Stoumbelis) Clark's Mother (Aglaia Stoumbelis). Mrs. Stoumbelis was born on 9/14/1894 and died on 9/1/1981. I was informed by my customer (a relative) that this spread was probably made around the 1940's. This is an outstanding piece of handwork not seen anymore. It is in excellent, unused condition.
