Basketball LeatherTravel INKWELL - Glass

This figural piece is an extremely rare figural traveling inkwell. It is covered in leather and perfectly round. The leather is designed to make it look like it is a miniature basketball. This is an EARLY basketball and it has a seam detail on the top like the kind you would normally find on a football. It was very well made and in amazingly good condition with just some minor wear to the leather. The top half is hinged and opens with a push of a secret button on the front. Under the lid t is a second brass lid that seals a small glass insert bottle that would hold the actual ink. It is just a great old piece. Very nice! Guaranteed old and original – dates to the 1890s!
