This is a nice clean U.S.A. made 6" vernier caliper with .001 (1/1000) inch graduations. It's marked "BROWN & SHARPE MFG. CO. PROVIDENCE R.I. U.S.A. 570". The calipers are in very good working order. They have the fine adjustment feature in very good working order, and they have hardened jaws. There is a scale on both sides of the beam, one side for outside readings, the other side for inside readings, both in very good condition. There is very little wear, moves very snug on the frame. There is a a name neatly etched on the tool on one side of the carriage, otherwise the finish is about 98% like new, very minor scratches, no rust. A nice clean antique machinist tool, by a well known and respected tool maker!
