C. E. Jennings Expansive Auger Bit Set w/ Case Rare!

$28.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a good useable early 1900's expansive bit by a rarely seen maker! It is marked "C.E. JENNINGS STEERS' PAT. APL.19.1910" and a few other older patent dates on the shank, and also marked "C.E.J." with an arrow shaped logo on the two geared type inserts. The is a lead screw type adjustment on this one, and one screw plate to hold the inserts in place once set. All cutting edges, lead screw, threads and adjustments are in very good working condition. This unit has a range from 7/8" to 1-3/4" diameter, and is graduated, so you can set the diameter with either insert to the size you require. This one is designed with the bit stock end taper to fit your brace. In very good condition overall, no rust, some minor staining, ready to use or display. The bag type case is worn, but has the Jennings name on it, so we are including it. It has a few small holes and has shrunk in length it appears as the flap snap closure will not reach the snap while the auger is in it. A very rarely seen tool, by a well know quality edge tool maker in New York in the early 1900's!
