These 15 inch long overall end nipper pliers are in good condition with removeable cutters. They are marked "CAREW'S PAT. WARRENTED FORGED STEEL MADE IN U.S.A. 14". Carew held the patent from 1882-1891, but it is not known what company made them. To our knowledge, these are the largest of the standard production of end nippers in this style. This is a tool that is not made any more today, yet is still usefull to contractors who work with heavy wire such as in concrete work. I cut wire 1/8" thick with these nippers with no harm done to the cutters at all! The adjustable stop keeps the cutters from hitting together when the wire is snipped, thereby prolonging the cutter life. This one is in good++ condition with good sharp cutters, no rust, minor dings and scratch, minor cutting edge wear, good pivot joint. A great tool design, in great working condition! Cutters are in good condition, minimal wear, good edge, and alignment. these cutters work very well on heavy wire, but not made for piano or instrument type wire. A very nice nipper, clean, some minor pitting and dings noted on the handle area mostly, with a good snug pivot joint. Hard to find in this nice shape!
