Carl Thieme Potschappel German Porcelain Three Vase Urn Garniture

Unavailable

Our garniture from Carl Thieme of Potschappel, Thuringia, near Desdren, includes a large vase with cover measuring 17 inches tall and two vases with covers measuring approximately 11 1/2 inches.  Each encrusted with fruit vines and flower heads and each lid with the figure of a song bird.

Possibly a matched set, as the smaller vases have the early "T" blue mark believed to be an early mark dating from the 1870s or 1880s, while the larger vase shows the "D" mark for Dresden.  Scattered chip losses to the flower petals, chip losses to the underside edges of each vase.  Extensive restorations to one lid and repairs to two large chips at the rim of one vase.
