Carved Wooden Lion Figurine Sculptures or Bookends

Our pair of vintage figures of seated male lions, apparently unsigned, are exquisitely carved in wood with a rich, brown stained finish and measure 13.25 by 11.75 by 5.25 inches.  Believed to date from the early twentieth century, they are in good condition with a wonderful patina, scratches, nicks and cracks, consistent with age.
