The painting depicting a view of the rocky coast of Capri with the Monacone rock rising majestically from the turquoise waters of the Tyrrhenian Sea, with the Sailboats near the rock .This painting one of the best quality Michele Federico Capri seascape paintings, is finely hand-painted, with vibrant colors, and fine details of the rocky cliffs ,sea waves and the sky . Signed by artist lower right "Mich. Frederico/Capri". and numbered No.3 at the back of the canvas.
The painting is housed in its original frame tag at the front with the plaque hand inscribed: “MONACONE ROCKCAPRI” CAV ,MICHELE FEDERICO.

Michelle Federico (1884-1966) was born in Capri, Italy. Federico was a student of Antonio Lala and specialized in seascapes and scenes of Capri. His first exhibition was at the Promatrice di Napoli in 1911. Federico exhibited extensively in Milan, Turin, Genoa and at the Societa Amatori e Caltori di Belle Arti di Roma, Rome. In addition, he participated in the Paris Salon, 1914; Pan Pacific International Exposition, San Francisco, 1915; Italian Exposition, Buenos Aires, 1923; First Biennale, Naples. He was honored in 1923 by a one-man exhibition. His Art Works are held in various important world Art collections and Museums including Halifax Museum.
