Christopher Dresser Mintons Faux Cloisonne Vases

Our exceptional pair of enameled porcelain vases in the Chinese cloisonné style, designed by Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) for Mintons, feature one side with a dragon and other with a phoenix, reserved on a blue cell-pattern ground, flanked by gilt rope handles with bearded mask terminals 16.25 in, 41.2 cm.  Each in good condition.  There is light rubbing wear throughout, and signs of restoration to chip losses to the undersides.  May have other restorations.  We will photograph under UV upon request.

Each carries the MINTONS globe mark with UK and USA flags left and right with the mark of A.B. DANIELL & SON at top and their address, 46 WIGMORE ST LONDON, below.  A.B. Daniell were a leading London china retailers who represented the top three British producers: Minton, Worcester and Coalport.  Established in 1820, they operated into the twentieth century.
