Pair of Mintons Faux Cloisonne Vases

$16,500.00
Quantity available: 2

Our exceptional pair of porcelain vases in the Chinese cloisonné style were designed by Christopher Dresser (1834-1904) for Minton.  They depict a dramatic dragon and phoenix on opposite sides on blue cell-pattern grounds, and are flanked by gilt rope handles with neoclassical mask terminals.  Heights: 16.25 in, 41.2 cm.  Each in good condition.  There is light rubbing wear throughout, and signs of restoration to chip losses to the undersides.  May have other restorations.

Additional images forwarded upon request.

Each has the MINTONS globe mark with UK and USA flags left and right with the mark of A.B. DANIELL & SON at top along with the firm's address, 46 WIGMORE ST LONDON, below.  A.B. Daniell were a leading London china retailer who represented the top three British producers: Minton, Worcester and Coalport.  Established in 1820, they operated into the twentieth century.
