Limoges Enamel Mirror Back Depicting Mythological Green Scene

Our enameled copper metal mirror back with brass frame, attributed to Limoges, 17-18th century, measures 4 3/4 by 3 7/8 inches by 1/2 inch. 

It depicts mythological Greek scene, apparently Apollo and Artemis arriving to slay the children of Niobe.  In Homer's Iliad, Niobe was defined by her hubris for which she was punished by Leto, who sent Apollo and Artemis to slay all of her children

It has noticeable wear including small enamel losses, dents and bends to the frame and no glass.
