This is a miniature champagne bucket used for holding cigarettes. It has some wear and probably needs to be replated. The bottom is a series of marks as follows: first row - the capital letters E, P and C, each in their own squares. Second row - a figure that looks like a man's head with his tongue sticking out (?), a crown, and a symbol similar to the English monetary pound symbol. Third row - 298 and an upside down triangle.
