The lid has relief decorating with scrolls, leaves and engraved letter"D". Marked,"STERLING" with a maker's mark. This original lid fits the cut glass powder bowl well. The bottom of the bowl has a cut star in the middle. There are couple very small scratches on the bottom from use on a dresser. This is normal and not detracting from the elegance of the piece.
