Our fine Grand Tour casting of Diana of Gabbi after Duchemin measures 31.5 in (75.6 cm) tall and is in good condition.  Pedestal has an engraved nameplate reading "DIANE DE GABIES (Musee du Louvre).

The original work in white marble depicting the goddess, Artemis, was discovered in 1792 on the property of the Prince Borghese at Gabii near JRome.  In 1807 the Prince sold the statue to Napoleon. It has resided in the collection of the Louvre since 1820.
