One vintage, cast iron fireplace, fireback from New Orleans, Louisiana and in excellent condition. Made of cast iron, weight is about 48 pounds net. it is 15-1/4" tall by 20-3/ 4" wide by 1" thick. It may go as for back as the middle 1800S or earlier. It goes in the back of a fireplace for protection of the bricks and to reflect or radiate the heat out. On the very bottom is 1740 (see the first picture) probably a date for the scene. The birds looks like eagles. On the bottom right hand corner is DE-COVSANCE (see the first and second picture). The third picture is showing its back. on the back is 76-91-155 (see the third and fourtyh picture) this may be a mold number. Questions Welcomed. Shipping is actual cost, Determined with zip code.
