One pot meals prepared in Romertopf Clay Pot Cookers are easy to prepare, delicious, healthy and require no watching while cooking.  Clay cookers had their origin several thousand years ago when a prepared chicken was covered in mud and thrown into the embers of a fire. When the clay had dried and hardened, it was taken out, the clay broken and the result was a fabulous tasting chicken that had been cooked in a primitive clay cooker.

The present use and shape of clay cookware was developed in Germany in 1967 by Romertorpf who has successfully marketed the Romertorpf clay cookware for the past 40 years. This cooker is 13" long by 9 1/4" across and about 4 1/4" deep, with the lid about 7", it is in excellent condition, no chips, the back has some light marks on the inside, appears to have only been used once, these will not affect use.  Marked on the bottom with West Germany and 111. Darkening of the clay is normal with use and the more you use the cooker the better the flavor of food. To use the cooker simply soak in cold water for about 15 minutes, place your food inside, cover and bake. These clay pot cookers are also easy to clean as well, hand wash with baking soda or vinegar.
