Enamel Cross of Honor of the German Mother NEcklace

Unavailable
This Vintage Guilloche Cobalt enamel Cross is dated and signed ( I can't make out the signature) and I think it is on its original chain. The crosses were awarded annually on the second Sunday in May (Mothering Sunday or Mother's Day), so despite its institution in 1938, the first awards were rendered in May 1939. The last awards were presented in 1944.[3] This one would have been one of the first. It measures 1 3/4" tall and has some enamel loss. The chain is 22" long. VintageSparkles offers Layaway on all our pieces regardless of which site it comes from. Please remember that vintage & antique items are not mint, nor are they perfect but they sure are full of old history and charm. Please use photos to make your decisions and read our policies prior to buying so you can have an excellent experience with us.
