The thing about this tile from Alfred Meakin, c. 1900-1905, is the glaze and the color.  The layered brick design is colored in a fantastic turquoise in the flowers and a nearly iridescent green/blue in the alternating blocks that come across as a crystaline malachite.  The tile is in excellent condition with slight wear to one raised edge on a ribbon in the middle register.
