A scene from chapter 37 of the seventh of Sir Walter Scott's Waverley Novels, The Heart of Midlothian, depicting "Jeanie & The Queen". This terrific design is by John Moyr Smith for Mintons China Works and is one from a series of twelve; it is underglaze block-printed in four colors (black, gold and two shades of gray) on an 8" x 8" tile. The tile is in excellent condition with light wear and nibbles around the edges; the surface is glossy and bright. Please write with any questions you may have.
