Our client's beautiful bronze statue depicting two girls in bathing suits playing leap frog on at the beach at Trouville, France was sculpted by the French master, Ernest Rancoulet (1842-1905).  It measures 23 inches tall and is in good condition, with some rubbing wear, oxidations, stains, scuffs, scratches and dents.  Signed and entitled along the edge of the base, a. TROUVILLE.

The artist is known for his genre works and sculptures of mythological and classical subjects.  He regularly exhibited at the Salon de Paris and his works can be found in prestigious collections including the Musee de Reims and Musee de Picardee, among others.
