HERE IS A BEAUTIFUL COLOR LITHOGRAPH FROM THE TURN OF THE CENTURY SIGNED BY ITALIAN ARTIST ERNESTO BENSA. THE TITLE OF THE ORIGINAL PAINTING IS "THE BARGELLO PALACE OF FLORENCE"(PALACIO EL BARGELLO DE FLORENCIA)WHICH WAS PAINTED BY BENSA IN 1889. THE BUILDING IS TODAY ONE OF THE MOST FAMOUS ART MUSEUMS IN THE WORLD HOLDING WORKS BY SUCH ARTISTS AS MICHELANGELO. THIS PORTION OF THE PALACE IS THE INNER COURTYARD. THE PALACIO HAS QUITE A HISTORY GOING ALL THE WAY BACK TO ITS ORIGINAL CONSTRUCTION IN 1256. THE NAME BARGELLO MEANS FORTIFIED TOWER AND ORIGINALLY WAS THE NAME GIVEN TO THE MILITARY CAPTAIN IN CHARGE OF KEEPING JUSTICE. EVENTUALLY THE NAME WAS EXTENDED TO THE BUILDING ITSELF WHERE THE CAPTAIN OPERATED FROM. IT SERVED AS A JAIL AND PRISON UNTIL IT BECAME A MUSEUM IN 1865. THE LITHOGRAPH IS ON RAG WATERCOLOR PAPER AND IS IN EXECEPTIONAL CONDITION. THE ARTIST PAINTED WITH PENCIL AND WATER COLORS. THE DETAIL AND COLORS IN THIS PIECE ARE STUNNING. THE IMAGES ARE SLIGHTLY LIGHTER IN COLOR THAN IN PERSON DUE TO FLASH. THIS ALSO TENDS TO OBSCURE SOMEWHAT THE INCREDIBLE DETAIL OF THE PIECE.
