Ethnic Collectibles/Hand Made/Carved Small
Quantity available: 1
This piece is a bit interesting. I acquired it from a lady who told me it was a handcarved piece from a nomadic tribe from Sub-Saharan Africa. It "looks" like those I have seen from footage of tribes like the Tuaregs and Bedouins , but have no proof of this. I do know it appears to have been all hand carved, possibly from a single piece of wood. It is hard to know for sure if the "legs" were carved seperately and inserted into holes. The wood appears to have an aged, mahogony color to it where it is worn at the edges. It is rustic and roughly carved, not a fine finishing to it. It has worn areas, the bottom of the legs, all the edges, etc. It measures aprox. 12" across table top, aprox. 4 1/4" tall, the handle is aprox. 5"X3".
