A MEGASIZE XXXXL Gasing/Spinning top/Spintop(280mm/11 in diameter!), carved from hardwood from Kalimantan Borneo. Old collection from the 1970s, it remains in solid playable condition, in fact this Gasing too has hardly any wear and tear, hardly used. Stand included.

Gasing, a type of game whereby the gasing spinning at its axis, balancing itself on a tiny dot only. It has been a traditional game for Borneo folks since centuries ago.A favorite pastime after the Farvesting season. Winner is determined by the longest spinning period of the gasing.

In the heir days, gasing strings were made from Bebaru Tree. Now nylon strings are more commonly seen. Length of the rope depended on the player arm, the longer his arm, the longer the string is required, usually does not exceed 1 meter. Coconut oil is used in lubricating the Gasings string.
