G.I. MIX Socket Chisel Set Wood Box Only Rare!

This is a nice, clean original storage box for a complete set of beveled edge socket firmer chisels (chisel not included) Marked with a paper label on the top interior, "ONE SET BEVELED EDGE SOCKET FIRMER CHISELS 1/8, 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 7/8, 1, 1 1/4, 1 1/2, 1 3/4, 2 in. MANUFACTURED BY THE G.I. MIX & CO. CAST STEEL FULLY WARRENTED". This box is in good shape, well made, good hinges and latches, although they appear to be newer replacement. As you can see in the pictures, this type of box was used to pack the chisel set in originally from the factory, and in this case didn't have any type of holders like the newer ones had, the chisels were simply wrapped in paper and packed into this box. The outside box end label is about 10% intact, and appears to have been lightly paint over with a milk type of paint long ago. The box is solid with good corner lap joints (top and bottom), clean but with a light green milk paint on the outside. The yellow label inside is about 99% intact, has some minor dirt and staining on it, but is easy to see and read. Very nice for displaying these larger top quality chisels! The box is 5.9 x 16.6 x 3.4" overall. Very hard to find! I have sold similar boxes like this for other brands, never for G.I. MIX & CO.! Don't miss out! A nice chisel box from the early 1900's era!
