G.I. MIX Socket Chisel Beveled Back 2 inch wide

$75.00
Quantity available: 1

This is a very rare 2" wide, bevel back socket chisel marked G.I. MIX & CO. NO. 1 EX We have not seen one quite like this one in years! It is thick, heavy duty stock than. This one is in really nice shape, considering that it was designed for heavy work. This one has a few minor issues, but overall is in great useable shape! Plenty of length, 11.5 inch cutting edge to end of socket, 16 inch including the handle. We note some dings on one cutting edge corner, but very tiny in size. The important area around the cutting edge is very clean as you can see in the pictures. G.I. MIX & CO., A quality maker from Connecticut USA up until the early 1900's, made EXTRA NO.1 chisel, meaning top of the line quality tool steel, and steel processing. The cutting edge on these chisels holds an edge very well, a pleasure to use! The handle is solid, but has been used, a few chipped off areas at the mallet end. This is a good useable chisel from the late 19th century.
