Grape Nuts Flakes Tortoise And the Hare Ad 1944 This is a June 13, 1944 advertisement. It is a nice color ad from General Foods Cereal. Picture in ad shows the Hare taking a nap while the tortoise passes by. According to General Mills they think the Hare slowed down because he gorged on a lunch as big as a banquet. The Hare may have won had he eaten a light Grape Nuts Flakes lunch. Nice picture. In excellent condition. Photo is taken through plastic and may show wrinkles or crookedness that is not in the ad.
