Our pair of Greek Revival obelisks are carved from variegated charcoal and white marble with bronze or brass hooks, and feature the profiles in relief of the Greek philosophers, Socrates and Diogenes.  The reliefs are titled SOCRATE and DIOGINE.

Each measures 25 by 8 by 8 inches.  There are scratches and small losses.  Each obelisk rests on a bronze or brass pin in the base, and neither is affixed to their base.
