Original Grueby Faience arts and crafts tile made in Boston and finished in fantastic curdled mustard glaze on a gray plastic clay body. Grueby Pattern No. 323. The higher portions of these tiles were left unglazed by the Grueby designers to simulate the age-worn medieval tiles on which they were based and which over the centuries had the glaze worn from their high points by the feet of many visitors to the cathedrals and churches in which they are to be found. The tile is impressed on the reverse "Grueby" and flower logo. Please write with any questions you may have and thank you for your consideration!
