H. T. Cushman Manufacturing Company Vintage Copper & Solid Maple Smoking Stand
Take home a piece of America's past with this H. T. Cushman Manufacturing Company Vintage Copper & Solid Maple Smoking Stand, circa 1920. The smoking stand was manufactured in north Bennington, Vermont by H. T. Cushman Manufacturing Company; a company that got its start in 1892 by producing corks and erasers. Soon afterwards they manufactured coat stands, umbrella racks, music stands, smokers and eventually furniture for just about every room of the house. Their wares were showcased at their Cushman stone show house, which became a prominent destination for tourist.
Constructed out of solid maple with painted areas and the original metal accents, this H. T. Cushman Manufacturing Company smoking stand has the original copper lined humidor, a place for an ashtray with the original metal holders for cigarettes and matches on top, and nicely turned legs with block and mushroom feet. Take a look at one of the photos below of Cushman's 1920s dealer catalogues advertising the Cushman Smokers as "a whole new college line of smokers". The H. T. Cushman Manufacturing Company Vintage Copper & Solid Maple Smoking Stand has the original H. T. Cushman Manufacturing Company label, measures, 30.00 inches H X 17.75 inches W X 12.00 inches D, and is in the original finish with appropriate wear for its age.
